HUNGER IS THE WORLD’S LARGEST SOLVABLE PROBLEM

A Great Life and our customers have the exciting opportunity to help end childhood hunger around the world. The strategy is simple –  A Great Life will donate the funds necessary to Feed My Starving Children to purchase four meals for every product sold from our website. Childhood starvation and malnutrition is a devastating problem, claiming more than 6,200 children’s lives a day around the world. This has to be stopped and we believe we can help save lives through FMSC.

For every cup of JOE, glass of SKINNY TEA, bottle of Not the Average NIGHT etc. One Dollar is donated to FMSC. They have produced a scientifically developed food pack designed to meet the needs of severely malnourished children in over 60 countries. They have consistently received the highest grades awarded for accountability and transparency. 92 percent of donations are spent on feeding programs. Many of the children they help face economic and health challenges. The food is used as a foundation to provide medical care, education, and skills training. We have seen the life changing impact the food has made and the hope each meal provides. Together we can continue to provide sustainable change to children around the world through food!

Stories of children helped by FMSC

In Today’s fast-paced society people are constantly showing before and after images from weight loss to anti-aging products.  It’s so easy for people to forget that while we live in abundance, so many people live in absolute poverty. With no hope.  It is our duty to bless others as we have been blessed and that is why we are working hard to help create before and afters like little Jonathan, who couldn’t even smile and was weak from malnutrition. Now he has hope, food, clothing and family who is being taught methods of sustainability!

Meet Emmanuel called Emma,  he is a child of 4, from a remote Ugandan village, their mother died in childbirth. Their alcoholic father was often gone for weeks at a time.

At age 11, Emma’s eldest brother, Brian, became the primary caretaker of his siblings: Joseph; 7, Joan; 5, and Emmanuel; 2. Desperate to provide for them, he begged for food in a nearby village.  When Brian’s pleading resulted in no food, none of them ate. They slept on the dirt floor with empty stomachs. Every day was a struggle to survive.

Little Emma, weighed barely nine pounds at age 2. His tummy was so swollen from malnutrition that his tiny legs struggled to support him. He barely had strength to move. One day a woman, Madrine, noticed the children. She asked an FMSC food partner, Rakai Orphans Development Initiative (RODI), for help.

“There is a family where a child is about to die,” she told RODI.

“When we found him, Emmanuel couldn’t walk and wouldn’t even talk,” said Richard Mutaawe, Co-Founder of RODI. “He literally didn’t have any energy. He was just bones.”  RODI immediately gave the kids MannaPack Rice. “We knew only FMSC food could save this family,” they said.  After one year of eating nutritious food every day, Emmanuel weighs 22 pounds. He smiles joyfully and is walking!  “Now we can all see hope,” says RODI.  “Before we came here, Emma was dying. He would spend days without eating. FMSC food was truly manna from heaven. It totally changed their lives.”
